RECORDING BY TIMER
After you have correctly programmed the VCR timer with your desired starting time, ending time, recording channel and record
mode, you are ready to set up the VCR for automatic recording by timer.

Insert a video cassette with the safety tab sti II attached.

" lights on and "NO TAB" indicator is off in the display.

Press the TIMER REC (TIMER RECORDING) button.
The VCR will turn off automatically, then the "
~
" indicator and Program Numbers to be recorded will appear in the dis-
play. Now the VCR is set to record automatically using the timer.
IF YOU RECEIVE AN "ERROR" MESSAGE:
If you receive an "Error" message in the display, it is caused by one of the following reasons:
The safety tab has been removed from the tape.
The timer has been programmed incorrectly.
HOW TO CHECK THE INFORMATION IN THE PROGRAM TIMER:

Press the TIMER MODE button to see the timer information displayed on the TV screen and in the VCR display.
2 The display will show Program 1 first. If you want to check more than Program 1, use the CHAN NE L!SET (v )/(

8.
3 When you are finished checking the information in the program timer, press the TIMER MODE button to turn off the timer
display.
HOW TO CHANGE THE INFORMATION IN THE PROGRAM TIMER:
1
Press the TIMER MODE button
to
see the timer information displayed on the TV screen and in the VCR display.
2 Use the CHAN NEL!SET (v)

buttons to show the program number you want to change.
3 Correct the information as needed using the SH 1FT
(-l/(+)
buttons and CHAN N EL!SET (v) I(
1\)
buttons. Follow the same
method as you used to enter the information originally.
4 When you have finished making the changes, make sure all the information is correct, and press the TIMER MODE button to
turn off the timer display.
HOW TO CANCEL THE INFORMATION IN THE PROGRAM TIMER:
1
Press the TIMER MODE button to see the timer information displayed on the TV screen and in the VCR display.
2 Use the CHANNE L/SET (v )/(
1\)
buttons to show the Program number you want to cancel.
3 Press the RESET button. All the information for that program will be removed from the timer, but any other programs
already set in the timer will not be changed.
4 Press the TIMER MODE button to turn off the timer display.
NOTE:
When the VCR is set to record automatically using the program timer (when the
"~"
appears in the display) the
program timer information cannot be cancelled. If the
"~"
indicator is on, you will need to release the timer by
pressing the TIMER REC button before changing the timer information. When you are finished changing the timer
information, turn the TI ME R REC on again (the "
~"
will re-appear in the display).
CAUTION: If you press the TIMER REC button during timer recording,the VCR will continue to record but will not turn off at
the time that has been programmed, and will not record any other programs that have been set until the TIMER
REC button has been turned on again.
When the VCR has been set to record using the timer, the power cannot be turned on even if you press the power
switch. If you want to use the VC R, release the timer by pressing the T IME R REC button first.
Segment Recording will take priority over Timer Recording. Even if the TIMER REC button is pressed during Seg-
ment Recording, the VCR will continue to operate using Segment Recording. If the Segment Record button is
pressed duirng Timer Recording, the timer will be turned off and the Segment Recording will take over.
