Keypad Board

7.17.1 Remove:
Required Tools: Finger Protection, Black Stick
Preparation: Separate Main Board
1. Insert flat tip of Black stick just under the Flip Flex Connector, between the connector and the
shield (see Figure 7-16).
2. Do not push excessively. Just enough to keep the stick under the connector.
3. Twist the Black stick only to disengage the Flip connector.
4. Do not bend the Flex Ribbon more than needed to remove the board. Lift the Keypad Board
straight out to clear the four bosses.
NOTE: The Keypad cannot be removed from the Keypad board.
7.17.2 Install:
Required Tools: Finger protection, Black stick.
Preparation: Keypad and Front Housing cleaned.
1. Insert Keypad Board into Front Housing and align with four bosses.
2. Hold Keypad Board in place, open flip, check alignment of Keypad keys with keyholes in Front
Housing.
3. Close flip. Place unit on flat surface. Gently align Flex Connector onto Keypad Board Flex
receptacle (See Figure 7-17).
NOTE: May require pushing connector into position-use care not to crease or stress Flex ribbon.
4. Once aligned properly, gently press along length of connector to insure fully seated.
5. Check for errant parts, debris, and that shields are not dented.
