Main and Keypad Boards

7.14.1 Separate:
Required Tools: Black Stick, Finger and ESD Protection.
Preparation: Remove Back Housing
1. Locate housing guide clip on front housing next to Audio Jack Port (See Figure 7-11).
2. Place flat end of Black Stick horizontally just at right side of clip.
3. Carefully push tip of stick in until it just touches the two Board Connectors.
4. Back off fractionally, then twist stick CCW until it contacts the upper main board (see Figure 7-
12).
5. Continue twisting flat of stick against edge of upper board until the two connectors separate.
6. Grasp and pull Main board straight up until it clears the front housing bosses.
7.14.2 Attach:
Required Tools: Black Stick
Preparation: Check the front housing keypad holes are clean.
1. Check that no loose screws or objects are trapped between the two boards.
2. Check the Keypad board is seated on the front housing bosses.
3. Align the Main board over the Keypad board. Check the four bosses and two board contacts are
all aligned.
4. Verify the contact flap on the Flip's flex connector will rub the contact land on the Main board.
5. Maintain alignment of the four bosses with board assembly.
NOTE: Do not press on the center of the SD Memory card holder.
6. Using the edge-only of the shield and edge-only of the SD Memory card holder, carefully push
the Main board connector down onto the Keypad board connector. Gently press until fully
seated.
