8.1

Introduction

Further work
This Operation Manual may be used to carry out only the work described in
it. Further work that is carried out in an incorrect way can lead to serious
damage to the machine.
ABB Turbo Systems recommends having further work carried out only by

trained personnel from an ABB Turbocharging Service Station.
Mark the casing position for assembly.

Customer tool set
Before starting work, make sure the required customer tool set is available (see chapter
Tools
→110).
Not all tools are marked with a part number. Identification is guaranteed by the tool list. This
list is enclosed with the tool set.
WARNING
Servicing the tools
The tools must be checked for damage before and after use.
Visually inspect for corrosion, cracks, deformation and wear.

Damaged tools must no longer be used and must be replaced.

Customer spare part set
Before starting work, make sure the required customer spare part set is available (see
→107).

Tightening torques for components of the turbocharger
The specified tightening torques of the bolted connections must be observed

Tightening torques for assembly devices
Unless described otherwise, the screws and nuts of the assembly devices supplied by ABB
must be tightened so they are tight-fitting.
