Fail to start OS:
Is the BIOS configuration of CPU blade correct?
→ Run the BIOS SETUP utility of CPU blade to change the boot order.
<Menu to check: [Boot]>
Is a floppy disk contained in the floppy disk drive?
→ Take out the floppy disk and restart the CPU blade.
Is the OS broken?
→ Use recovery process to recover the system.
Refer to the documentation stored in NEC EXPRESSBUILDER that comes with
the CPU blade.
The OS presents unstable operation:
Did you update the system?
→ Installing a network driver after installation of the OS may cause unstable
operation. Update the system according to "Updating the System" in Chapter 5.
The system does not restart automatically when an error occurs, though the system is
adjusted to automatically restarting:
→ When the system does not restart automatically, restart it manually.
The CPU blade is not found on the network:
Is the LAN cable connected?
→ Make sure the connection of network cable. Also make sure that the LAN cable to
use conforms to the network interface standard.
Is BIOS configuration correct?
→ The internal LAN controller may be disabled with the BIOS SETUP utility of the
CPU blade. Check the setting with the BIOS SETUP utility.
Have the protocol and service already been configured?
→ Install the distinctive network driver for the CPU blade. Make sure that the
protocol, such as TCP/IP, and services are properly specified.
Is the transfer speed correct?
→ The internal LAN controller of Tape Blade works on network with transfer rate of
1Gps. Open the network property dialog box in control panel to specify the "Link
Speed" value the same as the value specified for HUB.
