4 SAFETY MONITORING FUNCTIONS
The matrix on the Safety Input screen has rows representing safety inputs (SCNI, AREA, LOGIC, MODE). The
columns represent safety monitoring start commands for each safety function (SS1, SS2, SLS1, SLS2, SLS3,
SLSM, SLP1, SLP2, SLP3, SLPM).
Checking intersections of the rows and columns defines safety functions started when the individual safety inputs
are enabled. One safety input can be assigned to multiple safety functions. If multiple safety inputs are assigned
to one safety monitoring function, the safety monitoring function will be activated when any of the safety inputs
turns OFF.
Example 1: To assign safety input SCNI01 to SS1, check the intersection of SCNI01 and SS1 as shown in Fig.
4-19. When SCNI01 turns OFF, SS1 will be activated.
