Rear Bearing Carrier Installation - Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 S 2020 Service Manual

REAR BEARING CARRIER
INSTALLATION
1. Place the bearing carrier over the drive shaft.
2. Align the bottom of the bearing carrier with the lower
A-arm. Install the lower bearing carrier fastener.
3. Align the top of the bearing carrier with the upper A-
arm. Install the upper bearing carrier fastener.
NOTICE
The lower shock bolt may need to be removed to allow
the upper A-arm to move freely.
4. Torque the upper and lower bearing carrier fasteners
to specification.
TORQUE
Rear Upper A-Arm to Bearing Carrier Fasteners
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
Rear Lower A-Arm to Bearing Carrier Fasteners
70 ft-lbs (95 N·m)
5. Install the wheel hub assembly onto the drive shaft.

6. Install the washers with domed side out and the
t
wheel hub castle nut . Torque the wheel hub castle
nut to specification and install a NEW cotter pin
TORQUE
Wheel Hub Castle Nut
80 ft-lbs (108 N·m)
7. Install the brake caliper and torque new mounting
bolts to specification.
IMPORTANT
New bolts have a pre-applied locking agent which is
destroyed upon removal. Always use new brake caliper
mounting bolts upon assembly.
TORQUE
Rear Caliper Mounting Fasteners
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
8. Install the wheel, washers and wheel nuts. Torque
wheel nuts to specification.
TORQUE
Wheel Lug Nuts
120 ft-lbs (162 N·m)
FINAL DRIVE
