The reel threads on the left side
of the cutting unit are left-handed, and the
reel threads on the right side of the cutting
unit are right-handed.

Restrain the cutting reel; refer to
Reel for Installing Threaded Inserts (page

Torque the hex-head of the gearbox driveshaft
to 135 to 150 N∙m (100 to 110 ft-lb).
Important:
You must use a 6-point socket
with heavy wall.
Important:
Do not use an impact wrench for
this step.

Allow the thread-locking compound to cure for
15 minutes before continuing the procedure.
7.
If you are installing the groomer at the left side of
the machine, perform the following
A.
Remove the hex-socket screw that secures
the clutch knob to the actuator shaft.
B.
Remove the clutch-knob assembly and flip
it over

Assemble the clutch knob to the actuator
shaft with the hex-socket screw.

1.
Assemble the O-ring onto the pivot-hub

Apply a coat of anti-seize compound to the
outside diameter of the pivot-hub.

Position the idler assembly at the hydraulic
motor side of the reel (opposite of the groomer
gearbox).
4.
Insert the pivot hub into the idler, and assemble
the hub and idler to the cutting unit
with 2 socket-head screws (3/8 x 3/4 inch).
