*1
The cable size is that of the HIV cable (600 V grade heat-resistant PVC insulated wire) etc. with continuous maximum permissible temperature
of 75°C. It assumes a surrounding air temperature of 50°C or lower and the wiring distance of 20 m or shorter.
*2
The cable size is that of the THHW cable with continuous maximum permissible temperature of 75°C. It assumes a surrounding air temperature
of 40°C or lower and the wiring distance of 20 m or shorter.
(For the use in the United States or Canada, refer to "Instructions for UL and cUL" in the document enclosed with the product.)
*3
The cable size is that of the PVC cable with continuous maximum permissible temperature of 70°C. It assumes a surrounding air temperature of
40°C or lower and the wiring distance of 20 m or shorter.
(Selection example mainly for use in Europe.)
*4
The screw size for terminals R/L1, S/L2, T/L3, U, V, W, PR, P/+, N/-, and P1, and the earthing (grounding) terminal is shown.
The line voltage drop can be calculated by the following formula:
Line voltage drop [V] =
Use a larger diameter cable when the wiring distance is long or when it is desired to decrease the voltage drop (torque
reduction) in the low speed range.
NOTE
• Tighten the terminal screw to the specified torque.
A screw that has been tightened too loosely can cause a short circuit or malfunction.
A screw that has been tightened too tightly can cause a short circuit or malfunction due to the unit breakage.
• Use crimp terminals with insulation sleeves to wire the power supply and motor.
 Total wiring length
 With induction motor
Connect one or more general-purpose motors within the total wiring length shown in the following table.
Cable type
(carrier frequency)
1 (1 kHz) or lower
Unshielded
2 (2 kHz) or lower
Total wiring length (FR-E860-0.75K(0017) or higher)
500 m or less
• Use a "600 V class inverter-driven insulation-enhanced motor" and set Pr.72 PWM frequency selection according to the
wiring length.
