Heat sink for use in models with discrete graphics
Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

To remove the heat sink:
1. Discrete graphics models: In the order indicated on the heat sink, remove the five Phillips PM2.0×3.0
screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board.
2. Remove the heat sink from the system board (2).
● Thermal paste is used on the heat sink (1) and graphics chip (2), as well as on the heat sink (3) and
processor (4).
NOTE:
the system board components each time the heat sink is removed. Replacement thermal material
is included with the heat sink, processor, and system board spare part kits.
