Activating the Battery

No Parts Required
Procedure
The traction unit is shipped with a dry battery. You must
purchase bulk electrolyte with 1.260 specific gravity
from a local battery supply outlet.
Battery terminals or metal tools could short
against metal components, causing sparks.
Sparks can cause the battery gasses to explode,
resulting in personal injury.
• When removing or installing the battery, do
not allow the battery terminals to touch any
metal parts of the traction unit.
• Do not allow metal tools to short between
the battery terminals and metal parts of the
traction unit.
1. Park the traction unit on a level surface, raise the
loader arms, and install the cylinder locks.
