Relay Connector for Sync Contacts

GFK-2749
The Sync contacts are two redundant, isolated solid-state outputs that signal when it is
safe to close the contacts that will parallel Grid 1 to Grid 2. When the PSM module
determines that the synchronization parameters have been met, relay contact 1A closes
to relay contact 1B, and relay contact 2A closes to relay contact 2B. These outputs can
carry either AC or DC signals. In DC systems, the outputs can either be high-side
(sourcing) or low side (sinking) outputs. Since these are isolated outputs, the two relays
can be connected either in series or in parallel, depending on the needs of a specific
installation. Connecting the contacts in parallel does not increase the current carrying
capacity of the system.
If safety is the primary concern for a given installation, connect the relays in series,
increasing reliability of breaking the connection when synchronization is no longer desired.
If reliable power is the primary concern for a given installation, connect the relays in
parallel, increasing the reliability of making the connection when synchronization is
desired.
