2.1 Positioning

The ECC500 is a cross-platform monitoring product, in which a main control module works
with several expansion boards to monitor the environment, uninterruptible power supply
(UPS), natural-ventilation units in real time. In addition, the ECC500 can collect and analyze
statistics on feedback information and automatically control system components. This ensures
the system reliability and security and meets all monitoring requirements of a small data
center.

2.2 Benefits

In a small data center, the ECC500 can automatically detect the connection equipment
(southbound equipment) and allows you to configure, control, monitor, and collect statistics
on the equipment. The ECC500 also connects to a web client through the IP network for
presenting a web management interface.
The ECC500 allows you to perform remote maintenance on the web user interface (WebUI)
or local maintenance on the LUI. Maintenance data is synchronized between the WebUI and
the LUI.

Figure 2-1 shows an ECC500.
The ECC500 obtains real-time data and alarms by running UPS status query commands
periodically (the period is shorter than 15s), and reports and clears alarms.
If the UPS does not respond the UPS status query commands for three consecutive times,
the ECC500 reports alarms indicating interrupted communication with the UPS. The
ECC500 clears the alarms only after detecting a UPS with the same type as the original
one.
