PREPARING THE DISK DRIVE CAVITY

Removing the HORIZON Disk Drives
The disk drive that you will remove first is Drive
*2.
Drive *2 is on the right-hand side if you are
facing the front of the HORIZON.

1.
Remove the ADC brace from the top of the disk drives if one
is installed.
2.
Unplug the four wire DC power cable from connector J2 on the
top rear of the Drive #2 circuit board.
3.
Unplug the signal ribbon cable from connector Jl on the
bottom rear of the Drive #2 circuit board.
4.
Fasten the DC power
cable to the metal
partition at the
center of the
HORIZON chassis
using the plastic
tie wrap supplied
in the installation
kit. If you do not
perform this step,
the power cable may
be later drawn into
the HORIZON fan.
Tie wrap the
power cable for
Drive #2 only.
5.
Turn the HORIZON on its side, so that Drive #2 is on top.
