The CD-VM00 uses the same 6-pin modular jack as the DSX system. A
standard telephone line cord is used as the RS-232 cable. A DB9 to 6-pin
modular adapter is used on the device end of the cable. Refer to
CD-VM00 DB9 to 6-Pin Modular RS-232 Adapter on page
The pin connections of RS-232 signal pairs are symmetrical around the center
line of the 6-pin modular connector. This signal layout permits the construction
of a null serial cable by simply reversing one of the modular connectors on the
serial cable line cord.
