The table below lists system messages that you may encounter when monitor-
ing SpO
2.

Pulse absent or too
weak to be detected.

Excessive patient move-
ment, electrical interfer-

The level of ambient

Check the sensor is
applied properly.
Make sure the sensor
site has a pulse.
Relocate the sensor to
a site with improved
circulation.
Try another sensor
type.

Minimize patient
motion or apply sen-
sor to site with less
movement.
Secure the sensor
cable loosely to the
patient.
Reduce sources of
electrical or optical
interference.

opaque material.
