Neutral Lock Assembly

When performing routine maintenance and/or engine
diagnostics, the transaxle must be shifted into a neutral
position. The vehicle does not have a neutral position on
the shift lever. The following steps must be performed to
put the vehicle in neutral:
1. To lock the transaxle in neutral, rotate the locking pin
180 degrees on the shift block (Fig. 25).

2. Shift the gear selector into Reverse and then into
Forward. Leave the gear shift selector in the Forward
position.
3. Ensure that the transaxle is locked in neutral by rotating
the secondary clutch (Fig. 26). The tires should not
rotate. If tire rotation does occur, repeat step 2 until the
tires no longer rotate.
