SERVICING YOUR TILLER

AIR FILTER CLEANING

A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine
performance. If you operate the tiller in very dusty areas, clean the air
filter more frequently than specified in the Maintenance Schedule.
1.Tap the air filter element several times on a hard surface to remove
dirt, or blow compressed air [not exceeding 207 kPa (2.1 kgf/cm
30 psi)] through the air filter from the air cleaner housing side. Never
try to brush off dirt; brushing will force dirt into the fibers. Replace
the air filter if it is excessively dirty.
2.Wipe dirt from the air cleaner housing and cover using a moist rag.
Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the air duct that leads to the
carburetor.
