Installation of Windows 2000
Install Windows 2000 as described in the following procedure.
<Procedures for using the CD-ROM drive of N8460-003>
1.
Insert the Windows 2000 Setup Boot Disk into the floppy disk drive connected to the CPU
blade.
2.
Turn on the power to start the CPU blade.
3.
Press F6 while message "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..."
appears at the top of the screen.
NOTES:
In this status, pressing F6 cannot change the screen display at all.
Conduct key entries when the access lamp on the USB floppy disk
drive is off (or access to the floppy disk does not occur).
The following steps are not required if the F6 key is not be pressed. Provide the setup
depending on the on-screen directions. Refer to the "First Step Guide" for details.
4.
If the following message appears, press S.
Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage
devices installed in your system, or you have chosen to
manually specify an adapter. Currently, Setup will load
support for the following mass storage devices.
The following message appears.
manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk
5.
Insert Windows 2000 OEM-DISK for NEC EXPRESSBUILDER into the floppy disk
drive and press Enter.
Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage devices
installed in your system, or you have chosen to manually specify an adapter.
Currently, Setup will load support for the following mass storage devices.
6.
Select the [Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI Cards (Win2000)] and press Enter.
Then, it returns to the screen of step 5.
Please insert the disk labeled
into Drive A:
* Press ENTER when ready.
