Initial Configuration Guide
Prerequisite
Note the following when connecting the Linux AS to the controller:

Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the AS as the root user.
Step 2 By using the command: rpm -ql linux-iscsi, check whether any rpm package of the iSCSI is
installed.
If the following information is displayed, it indicates that an rpm package has been installed in
the system and you can directly perform

/etc/init.d/iscsi
/etc/initiatorname.iscsi
/etc/iscsi.conf
/sbin/iscsi-device
/sbin/iscsi-id

Step 3 Install the rpm package.
Please install a rpm package that is compatible with the actual Linux version.

Suppose that the operating system of an AS is SLES 9 SP 3. You can perform the following
steps to set up a connection from the AS to an iSCSI host port on the controller. For other
Linux operating systems, adjust the operation process according to the actual conditions.
If it is not for the first time that you have connected the AS to an iSCSI port on the controller,
you can directly perform
CAUTION
Enter the command yast. The YaST interface is displayed.
Figure 3-27 shows the YaST interface. Choose Software on the left side of the interface.
Move the cursor and choose Install and Remove Software on the right side. Press
Enter.
