241- Expansion Riser Board Detected in Incorrect Slot – An expansion riser board is
installed in a riser slot in which it is not supported.
Action: Please move the expansion riser board to a slot in which it is supported. Refer to server documentation for
any requirements regarding the installation of expansion riser boards.
- System Halted!
Possible cause: The expansion riser board is installed in an unsupported slot.
Action: Move the expansion riser board to a supported slot.
242- Unsupported Processor Configuration Detected – System does not support
booting with three processors installed.
Action: Install or remove one processor so the system has a supported number.
- System Halted!
Possible cause: The system does not support booting with three processors.
Action: Install an additional processor or remove one of the processors.
242- Unsupported Processor Configuration Detected – Processors are installed in the
incorrect order.
Action: Install the processors sequentially starting with Processor 1.
- System Halted!
Possible cause: Processors are installed in the incorrect order.
Action: Install the processors sequentially starting with Processor 1.
243- Unsupported Option Card configuration. The option card installed in Slot X is
not supported in that slot with the current server configuration.
Action: Move the Option Card to a different slot.
- System Halted!
Possible cause: The option card is installed in a slot that is not supported by the current server configuration.
Action: Move the option card to a supported slot.
244– IMPORTANT: PCIe Slot X only supports 8 functions for a SR-IOV capable

Expansion Card.

Action: HP recommends moving this Expansion Card to another available slot to avoid possible SR-IOV limitations.
Possible cause: The present PCIe slot only supports eight functions for a SR-IOV capable expansion card.
Action: Move the expansion card to another slot to avoid SR-IOV limitations.
245– Processor Power-on Failure: Processor X failed to power-on.
Action: Power Cycle the system. If this does not resolve the issue, re-seat the processor. If the issue persists, contact
HP Service.
