Audio dubbing is the process of recording new audio in place of the audio that was formerly recorded on
the linear audio track. Audio dubbing does not disturb the recorded video and it does not disturb the audio
that was formerly recorded on the VHS Hi-Fi track. When Audio Dubbing, the source for the Audio
Dubbing is "whatever you are hearing".
1. Connect the audio source to either (or both) AUDIO IN jacks. (Stereo inputs will be mixed and recorded
in monaural on the linear track.)
• If a plug to be connected to is only one, connect it to the left side. AUDIO IN (L) handles the left channel
stereo sound or monaural sound.
2. Press the AVX button on the remote control to select L2 (Line 2).
3. Press GUIDE button and select "AUDIO PLAYBACK [LINEAR]" following "INITIAL SETUP" on page
23.
4. Play a recorded cassette.
Be sure that the record safety tab is not missing.
5. Press PAUSE button exactly where audio dubbing is to begin.
• The VCR enters the play pause mode.
6. Press AUDIO DUB button.
7. Press PAUSE button again.
8. Press STOP button to stop audio dubbing.
After dubbing, select the type of audio for listening.
• To hear the sound that was dubbed, select "AUDIO PLAYBACK [LINEAR]" following "INITIAL SETUP"
on page 23.
• To hear the dubbed sound and the sound before dubbing simultaneously, select "AUDIO PLAYBACK
[MIX]" following "INITIAL SETUP" on page 23.
NOTE: If the linear timer counter is displayed in the VCR's display, the tape stops automatically at the reading
of "0:00:00" and audio dubbing stops.
