Installing Hardware Options, Hot-Pluggable
Never turn a disk enclosure off while the initiator or controller is powered
on or active. Doing so can cause the initiator or controller to mark the drives as
"failed." This action can result in permanent data loss.
If a drive is replaced while the system is off, it may be necessary to rebuild
the replaced drive. Follow the instructions on the screen or the instructions
outlined in the system reference guide.
CAUTION: Pressing the F2 key will cause permanent data loss to the entire logical
drive. Press the F2 key only if all of the drives have been replaced or if complete
data loss is required.
NOTE: When a drive configured for fault tolerance is replaced, the replacement drive
automatically begins restoring when it is installed. When a drive is in the process of being
restored, the Online LED blinks green. The LED continues to flash until the drive is completely
restored.
