Fuel Strainer Maintenance
The fuel strainer is incorporated in the
fuel valve
(D
which is mounted on the
bottom of the fuel tank at the left side.
Accumulation of dirt in the filter wil I
restrict
the
flow of the fuel and cause
the carburetor t, o malfunction, therefore,
the filter should be seNiced periodical ly.
1. Drain giasol ine from fuel tarlk. When
servicing the strainer without drain-
ing, remove the tank from frame, turn

Fuel valve (2J Fuel va lve attach ing
nll l
tank cap knob to ,. 0 FF" position to
lock the cap and turn the tank up-
side down.
2. Loosen fuel valve attaching nut

and
remove fuel valve.
3. Remove fuel valve strainer screen

and rubber packing
@ .
Then wash
them with cleaning solvent.
4. Reinstall the strainer and the valve
on the tank. Turn the valve to the
,,0 N ., position and check for leakage.
