3.4 Cleaning of Lens in Sample Compartment
Two types of quartz lenses are utilized in the sample compartment; excitation and emission side lenses
(Fig. 3-18).
Dust adhering to the lenses can be removed by wiping them carefully with a cleaning cloth moistened with
a 1:1 mixture of ethanol and ethyl ether (also wear clean gloves for this purpose).
NOTE:
The lenses are fixed with screws, which should not be loosened. Since the lenses are precisely
adjusted optically, loosening the screws would cause the optical axis to deviate and result in a
decrease in performance.
