[1] DOLBY NR switch
This switch is used to select whether the Dolby"
NR system is applied to playback. This system
provides a high S/N ratio and improves sound
quality.
ON: plays back the sound with the Dolby NR
system.
OFF: plays back the sound without the Dolby
NR system.
Note |
Be sure to make the same selection when
recording and playing back. If the DOLBY NR
switch is set to OFF when the player is playing
back a signal recorded with the Dolby NR
system, high sound levels may be emphasized.
[2| AUDIO LINE OUT SELECT switch
This switch is used to select the audio signal to
be output from the AUDIO OUT NORM/Hi-Fi
connectors on the rear panel.
HiFi: outputs a hi-fi recording signal.
NORM: outputs a normal recording signal.
The hi-fi recording signal is output from the
AUDIO OUT Hi-Fi connector, regardless of
how this switch is set.

EDIT switch
Set this switch to ON when duplicating a signal.
This will prevent degradation of the video
signal.
ON: Duplicating the signal
OFF: Normal operation
SYSTEM SELECT switch
This switch is used to select the color system of
video signals to be played back.
PAL: To play back PAL-recorded signals.
Normally, set this switch to this position.
NTSC 4.43: To play back NTSC-recorded
signals using a monitor which can display
signals of multiple color systems, such as
Sony PVM-1442QM.
