INTRODUCTION
These Tripp Lite External Battery Packs are designed for use with various Tripp
Lite UPS systems equipped with external battery pack connectors. When used
with appropriate Tripp Lite UPS systems, they meet UL standard 1778.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Use caution when lifting Battery Pack. Because of the Battery Pack's considerable weight, at
least two people should assist in lifting and installing it. If rackmounting the Battery Pack, mount
it in the lowest rack space possible.
• Suggested mounting procedures are for common rack types and may not be appropriate for all
rack configurations. User must determine the fitness of mounting hardware and procedures
before mounting.
• Battery packs with similar connectors may have different input/output voltages. Check the DC
voltage of all battery packs before connection.
• When connecting multiple Battery Packs to a single UPS, the Battery Packs should be
approximately the same age.
• It is normal for sparks to occur inside external battery connectors during final battery
connection.
• Do not unplug external batteries from the UPS while the UPS is operating on battery power, due
to the possibility of dangerous arcing.
• There are no user-serviceable parts inside the Battery Pack. Do not open the Battery Pack for
any reason.
• Do not attempt to replace the internal batteries. Batteries should only be replaced by factory
authorized personnel.

Rack Mounting Wall Mounting INTRODUCTION These Tripp Lite External Battery Packs are designed for use with various Tripp Lite UPS systems equipped with external battery pack connectors. When used with appropriate Tripp Lite UPS systems, they meet UL standard 1778. - Page 2 Tripp Lite Customer Support for information. MOUNTING 2U BP Series Battery Packs may be mounted in rack, wall or tower configurations. 3U BP Series Battery Packs are intended only for mounting in racks. Use the following suggested installation procedures as guidelines for mounting your Battery Pack.
- Page 3 Suggested Rackmount Installation for 3U Models in 2-Post Enclosures 1) Attach the support brackets (A) to both rack posts (B) with user-supplied rack bolts (C). 2) Attach mounting ears (D) to the mounting holes on the middle of the Battery Pack's sides (E), using the screws and washers provided (F).
- Page 4 Suggested Rackmount Installation for 2U Models in 4-Post Enclosures Measure the depth of your rack from the outside surface of the front mounting rail to the outside surface of the rear mounting rail. Connect the rear mounting ears (A) to the mounting extensions (B) using four wing bolts and flat washers (C) and locking nuts (D) each.
- Page 5 Suggested Rackmount Installation for 2U Models in 2-Post Enclosures On both sides of your Battery Pack, con- nect one mounting ear (A) with four screws and flat washers (B) to the Battery Pack's middle four mounting holes. The mount- ing surface of the ear should face the front of the Battery Pack.

Batterie mit dem externen Anschluss der zweiten usw. ALLE IN SERIE GESCHALTETEN BATTERIEN MÜSSEN VOM GLEICHEN TYP SEIN. Beachten Sie, dass mehrere, in Serie geschaltete Batteriesysteme die Leistung erhöhen, aber auch längere Ladezeiten erfordern. Sollte Ihr Batteriesystem keinen externen Batterieanschluss (B) enthalten, können Sie von Tripp Lite einen Adapter USV-Gerät anzuschließen. -
