Technical Troubleshooting Guide
Fault
Pilot won't light.
Pilot flame is very small
and can be easily
blown out by a small
draft.
Main Burner will not
light.
Main burner and pilot
shuts-off after a few
minutes of operation.
Flame does not come
out from some of the
holes of the main
burner.
Possible Cause
No gas supply or gas
isolation valve is OFF.
Pilot burner is
clogged/blocked.
Thermocouple connection to
gas valve is loose or too
tight.
Faulty thermocouple.
Faulty safety gas valve.
Insufficient gas supply
pressure.
Thermocouple connection to
gas valve is loose or too
tight.
Pilot injector is clogged or
blocked.
Pilot head is partially
blocked.
Faulty safety gas valve.
No gas supply or gas
isolation valve is OFF.
Insufficient gas supply
pressure.
Clogged or blocked burner
injector.
Faulty or broken gas valve.
Clogged pilot injector.
Thermocouple connection to
gas valve is loose or too
tight.
Faulty thermocouple.
Faulty safety gas valve.
Holes are clogged with
carbon or food debris.
Ensure gas isolation valve is turned on, and
that gas tanks are not empty.
Check the pilot burner if clogged, and clean, or
replace if necessary.
Check the thermocouple tightness. Tighten the
thermocouple to 2.5N-m of torque. Or loosen if
necessary.
Replace the thermocouple.
Replace the safety gas valve.
Adjust the gas supply pressure to required
standard. Refer to gas pressure requirement
section on this manual.
Check the thermocouple tightness. Tighten the
thermocouple to 2.5N-m of torque. Or loosen if
necessary.
Check the pilot burner if clogged, and clean, or
replace if necessary.
Check the pilot head for any blockage. Clean or
remove the blockage. Replace the pilot head if
necessary.
Replace safety gas valve.
Ensure that gas tanks are not empty, and gas
isolation valve is turned ON.
Adjust the gas supply pressure to required
standard. Refer to gas pressure requirement
section on this manual.
Clean the burner injector or replace it if
necessary.
Replace the gas valve.
Replace pilot injector.
Check the thermocouple connection. Loosen or
tighten if necessary.
Replace thermocouple.
Replace safety gas valve.
Clean the burner or replace it if necessary.
