Wheels must be used only for specified applica-
tions. For example: do not grind w ith the side of
cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheels are intended

wheels may cause them to shatter.
Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are
5.
of correct size and shape for your selected
w heel. Proper wheel flanges support the wheel
thus reducing the possibility of wheel breakage.
Flanges for cut-off wheels may be different from
grinding wheel flanges.
6.
Do not use w orn do w n w heels from larger
po w er tools. A w h e e l i n t e n d e d f o r l a r g e r p o w e r

When using dual purpose w heels al w ays use
the correct guard for the application being
performed. Failure to use the correct guard may

Additional safety warnings specific for cutting-off
operations:
Do not "jam" the cut-off wheel or apply exces-
1.
sive pressure. Do not attempt to make an
excessive depth of cut. O v e r s t r e s s i n g t h e w h e e l

ity of kickback or wheel breakage.
2.
Do not position your body in line w ith and
behind the rotating w heel. W h e n t h e w h e e l , a t
the point of operation, is moving away from your
body, the possible kickback may propel the spin-
ning wheel and the power tool directly at you.
3 .
When the w heel is binding or w hen interrupt-
ing a cut for any reason, switch off the power
tool and hold it motionless until the w heel
comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to
remove the cut-off wheel from the cut while
the w heel is in motion other w ise kickback may
occur. I n v e s t i g a t e a n d t a k e c o r r e c t i v e a c t i o n t o

susceptibility to twisting or binding of the wheel
in the cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel
breakage, which can lead to serious injury.
8.
Before using a segmented diamond w heel,
make sure that the diamond w heel has the
peripheral gap bet w een segments of 10 mm or
less, only w ith a negative rake angle.
Safety warnings specific for sanding operations:
1.
Use proper sized sanding disc paper. Follo w
manufacturers recommendations, w hen
selecting sanding paper. L a r g e r s a n d i n g p a p e r
extending too far beyond the sanding pad pres-
ents a laceration hazard and may cause snagging,

Safety warnings specific for wire brushing
operations:
Be a w are that w ire bristles are thro w n by the
1.
brush even during ordinary operation. Do not
overstress the w ires by applying excessive
load to the brush. The wire bristles can easily

2.
If the use of a guard is specified for wire
brushing, do not allo w any interference of the
w ire w heel or brush w ith the guard. W i r e w h e e l
or brush may expand in diameter due to work load
a n d c e n t r i f u g a l f o r c e s .
Additional Safety Warnings:
1.
When using depressed centre grinding w heels,
be sure to use only fiberglass-reinforced wheels.
2.
NEVER USE Stone Cup type w heels w ith this
grinder. T h i s g r i n d e r i s n o t d e s i g n e d f o r t h e s e
types of wheels and the use of such a product
may result in serious personal injury.
3 .
Be careful not to damage the X -LOCK holder.
Damage to the parts could result in w heel
breakage.
4 .
Make sure the w heel is not contacting the
w orkpiece before the s w itch is turned on.
5.
Before using the tool on an actual w orkpiece,
let it run for a w hile. Watch for vibration or
w obbling that could indicate poor installation
or a poorly balanced w heel.
6.
Use the specified surface of the wheel to per-
form the grinding.
7 .
Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool
only w hen hand-held.
Do not touch the w orkpiece immediately after
8.
operation ; it may be extremely hot and could
burn your skin.
Do not touch accessories immediately after
9.
operation ; it may be extremely hot and could
burn your skin.
10. Observe the instructions of the manufacturer
for correct mounting and use of w heels.
Handle and store w heels w ith care.
Do not use separate reducing bushings or
11.
adaptors to adapt large hole abrasive w heels.
12. Check that the w orkpiece is properly
supported.
1 3 . Pay attention that the w heel continues to
rotate after the tool is switched off.
1 4 . If w orking place is extremely hot and humid,
or badly polluted by conductive dust, use a
short-circuit breaker (30 mA) to assure opera-
tor safety.
15. Do not use the tool on any materials contain-
ing asbestos.
16. When use cut-off wheel, always work with
the dust collecting w heel guard if required by
domestic regulation.
