Simulation No. and function
Auto exposure correction
<AE gain setting (manual)>
With the exposure AUTO lamp blinking, turn the VR202 to set the AE (auto exposure) gain
manually.
When the VR202 is turned clockwise, brightness is increased.
When the VR202 is turned counterclockwise, brightness is decreased.
After completion of the setting, press the EXPOSURE key to establish and store the set value.
@
When the AE (auto exposure) gain is automatically set, the manual setting is cancelled and
the simulation is terminated.
After setting the AE gain, the simulation is automatically terminated and the READY indicator is
lighted.
@
Note: To return to the normal operation mode (copy operation), turn on and off the power to
cancel the simulation.
The brightness at auto exposure can be set in three levels to adapt for deterioration of the
photoconductor, dirt in the optical system, and the user's preference. In the toner save mode, the
toner consumption is saved by about 20% compared with the standard setting.
@
When this correction is performed, the manual exposure mode is also changed.
Turn on the power to set the machine to the ready state or the auto power shut off state. Under
this state, keep pressing the EXPOSURE key for 10 sec.
When the EXPOSURE key is pressed for 10 sec, the currently set auto exposure level is
displayed by the exposure indicators.
Select the desired brightness with the EXPOSURE key, and leave the machine for 5 sec.
All exposure indicators go off and the machine goes into the ready state.
