    Environmental note Note : Before discarding an old appliance, switch off and disconnect it from the power supply. Cut off and render any plug useless. Cut the cable off directly behind the appliance to prevent misuse. This should be undertaken by a competent person. Disable the door lock to make sure that children cannot get stuck inside the appliance.

    Description of the appliance There is also a half width door shelf and two egg racks, which are not shown in the above drawing. Description of the product features 1) Shelves o The shelf may be placed in any of the guide slots within the interior of the appliance.

    Using your Baumatic fridge Before switching on o Make sure that it has been installed by a suitably qualified person, as per the information contained in Baumatic’s installation instructions. o After delivery, wait for eight hours before connecting the appliance to your mains supply. This will allow any refrigerant gasses that may have been disturbed during the transportation process to settle.

    During first use o When you first switch on the appliance, the compressor will run continuously for approximately 24 hours or until the refrigerator reaches a cool enough temperature. o During this period of time, you should try not to open the door frequently or place a large amount of food in the appliance.
  • Page 11: Arranging And Storing Food In Your Refrigerator

    o IMPORTANT: The ambient temperature of the room, the temperature of the food and the amount of food that has been placed in the appliance and how often the door is opened, will all affect the temperature being maintained by the appliance. o On the maximum setting (position <7>), your fridge will work harder to maintain a lower temperature.
  • Page 12 o Meat should be wrapped in polythene bags and then placed on the glass shelf above the salad drawer. (Meat should only be stored in this manner for one or two days at the most). o Cold dishes/cooked food should be covered and can be placed on any shelf.
  • Page 13 Freezing fresh food o To freeze the maximum quantity of fresh food specified above, you should turn the thermostat up to the highest setting 24 hours prior to attempting freezing. o For smaller quantities of fresh food, the thermostat should be turned up to its highest setting approximately 6 hours prior to attempting freezing.

    Cleaning and maintenance WARNING: PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR APPLIANCE IS DISCONNECTED FROM YOUR MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN IT. o Do not clean the appliance by pouring water onto it or spraying water over it. o The refrigerator compartment should be cleaned periodically, using a solution of bicarbonate of soda and lukewarm water.
  • Page 15 o The evaporating tray and defrost water drain hole should be cleaned periodically with the defrost drain plug. This will prevent water from collecting in the bottom of the refrigerator, instead of flowing down the defrost drainage channel and drain hole. o You can also pour a small amount of water down the drain hole to clean inside of it.

    o With dry hands, reconnect your appliance to your mains supply. Set the thermostat knob to position <7> for a 24 hour period, before returning it to the normal setting of between <3> and <4>. o You should not attempt to freeze fresh food inside the freezer compartment until this 24 hour time period has elapsed.

    Installation IMPORTANT: Before installation and usage read all the instructions and make sure that the voltage (V) and the frequency (Hz) indicated on the rating plate are exactly the same as the voltage and frequency in your home. The rating plate can be found on the front left edge of the inside of the refrigerator.

    Positioning o It is advisable that your appliance is only installed in a location where the ambient temperature of the room, corresponds with the climate classification that is stated on the rating plate of your appliance. Your appliance may not function correctly if the ambient temperature falls outside of the following ranges.
  • Page 19: Adjusting The Height And Leveling Off Your Larder Fridge

    o The appliance must be stood on a level floor. You can use the leveling feet to take into account any minor unevenness in the floor. Adjusting the height and leveling off your larder fridge 2) Place the larder fridge into the aperture. The height and level of the appliance should then be adjusted so it sits properly under the worktop.

    Installing your refrigerator If you need the appliance door to open from the other side, then please reverse the door before commencing the installation process. (See “Reversing the door section”). Tools required:- o Tape measure o Sharp pencil o Small flat bladed screwdriver o Spanner o Bradawl o Drill...
  • Page 21 5) Measure the distance between the two screwholes on the top of the fridge door. 6) Draw a line that is the length of that measurement (D) on the rear of the furniture door. This line should be drawn at the point that you marked in step 4.
  • Page 22 8) Using the screws provided, secure the front brackets to the inside of the furniture door on the holes that you have just drilled. IMPORTANT: These screws must be securely tightened. 9) Tighten the upper retaining bolts to the top of the appliance door.
  • Page 23 11) Rehang the furniture door and make the same adjustments that you made in step 9. o Tighten the retaining nuts at the top of the appliance door. o Secure the bottom of the furniture door to the appliance door, using the two fixing brackets, tightening screws into the two holes that you made in step 10.

    Adjusting the plinth/kickboard When the appliance has been fitted, you may decide to attach a plinth or kickboard to match your existing kitchen units. o Remove the grid on the base of the fridge by releasing the fastenings just inside of the grill on each side. Then pull the grid towards you.
  • Page 25 2) With the door closed, remove the screws on the outside of the hinges. o You should start with the top hinge first. 3) Carefully open the hinges away from the appliance d oor. 4) Remove the door from the main body of the appliance.
  • Page 26 7) Turn the hinge over and place it on the diagonally opposite corner of the cabinet. o Securely screw it into place. 8) Repeat steps 5 - 7 on the remaining hinge (i.e. remove it and attach it to the diagonally opposite corner). o Replace the cabinet blanking plates.
  • Page 27 Reversing the door of the freezer compartment WARNING: PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR APPLIANCE IS DISCONNECTED FROM YOUR MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULB. If you reverse the door of your fridge, then it would be advisable to also reverse the door of the freezer compartment.
