Delivery settings
Next to the connector panel (see
on page
39), a button labeled with "PWR" is arranged. This power button is
normally without function.
The VSB 40.1 is started by applying the supply voltage. This is preset in the
BIOS. However, if the BIOS setting has been modified accidentally, the VSB
40.1 can be started by pressing the power button.
The original state, in which the VSB 40.1 also starts without pressing the power
button after applying the supply voltage, can be reset as follows:
Start the BIOS setup by pressing the <DEL> or <Entf> key while booting.
There, activate Power Management Setup menu.
Select in this menu under the PWRON After PWR-Fail item the [Former-
Sts] setting.
To display and operate the VSB 40.1 we recommend the VDP 16 and VDP 40
displays. These displays are especially designed by Bosch Rexroth for indus‐
trial applications. They are connected via the the G5 display interface
the VSB 40.1. In this way the display can be installed 30 meters away or more
from the PC. The VDP displays are available either with a foil keyboard or with
a touch screen.
For detailed information please refer to the relevant documentation
of the VDP 16 and VDP 40 devices.
Mouse and keyboard can be connected also to these displays.
A standard monitor (female connector XVGA), a PS2 keyboard (female con‐
nector XKB) and a PS2 mouse (female connector XMS) can be connected to
the VSB 40.1.
NOTICE
If a VDP is used, keyboard and mouse may only be connected to this display.
Then the keyboard and mouse interface have to stay free.
On delivery, the settings of the VSB 40.1 devices allow to trigger a connected
monitor as well as a connected VDP display.
The G5 display interface is the successor of the G4 display interface.
