W hen using

I f t h e orange lamp blinks, t h e tool stops be c ause o f little
remaining battery capacity (Auto-stop mechanism).
Charge the battery cartridge or use a charged battery
c artri d ge at t h is time.
When the tool is used with the battery that has not been
used for a long time and is switched on, no lamps may
lig h t up. T h e tool stops be c ause o f little remaining bat-
tery capacity at this time. Charge the battery properly.
Tool / battery protection system
The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-
tem. This system automatically cuts off power to the
motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-
matically stop during operation if the tool or battery is
pla c e d un d er one o f t h e f ollo w ing c on d itions :
Overload protection
When the tool/battery is operated in a manner that
causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool
stops automatically. In this situation, turn the tool off
an d stop t h e appli c ation t h at c ause d t h e tool to be c ome
o v erloa d e d . T h en turn t h e tool on to restart.
Overheat protection
When the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stops
automatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery cool
be f ore turning t h e tool on again.
Overdischarge protection
When the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stops
automatically. In this case, remove the battery from the
tool and charge the battery.
Sw itch action
CAUTION:
Before inserting the battery cartridge
into the tool, always check to see that the switch
trigger actuates properly and returns to the OFF
position w h en release d .

To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool
speed is increased by increasing pressure on the switch
trigger. R elease t h e s w it c h trigger to stop.
NOTE: The tool automatically stops if you keep pull-
ing t h e s w it c h trigger f or about 3 minutes.
Reversing sw itch action
CAUTION:
Always check the direction of rotation
be f ore operation.
CAUTION:
Use the reversing switch only after
t h e tool c omes to a c omplete stop. C h anging t h e
direction of rotation before the tool stops may dam-
age t h e tool.
CAUTION:
When not operating the tool, always
set t h e re v ersing s w it c h le v er to t h e neutral position.

CAUTION:
Do not look in the light or see the
source of light directly.
P ull t h e s w it c h trigger to lig h t up t h e lamp. T h e lamp
keeps on lig h ting w h ile t h e s w it c h trigger is being pulle d .
The lamp goes out approximately
releasing t h e s w it c h trigger.
NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of
t h e lamp. Be c are f ul not to s c rat c h t h e lens o f lamp, or
it may lower the illumination.
Changing the parameter setting on
the computer
You can configure detailed setting of the tool with the
application software Makita Industry Tool Settings .
I nstall t h e appli c ation so f t w are on t h e c omputer an d
c onne c t t h e tool to t h e c omputer w it h a U S B c able.
Refer to the instruction manual of Makita Industry Tool
Settings for details on configuration.
