SECTION 6: MAINTENANCE

Schedule

For optimum performance from this machine, this
maintenance schedule must be strictly followed.
Ongoing
To maintain proper machine operation, shut down
the machine if you ever observe any of the items
below, and fix the problem before continuing
operations:
Clogged nozzle.
Worn or damaged wires.
Any other unsafe condition.
Weekly Maintenance
Wipe down dust/filament residue.
Monthly Maintenance
Clean nozzle with brush and needle (Page 36).
Clean feeder & Bowden tube (Page 41).
Lubricate X- and Y-axis rails and Z-axis
leadscrew.
Cleaning &
Protecting
Cleaning the Model G0922 is relatively easy.
Remove excess filament that has built up on the
machine and wipe away dust or residue with a
dry cloth.

Lubrication

The axis rails and leadscrew require regular lubri-
cation to ensure smooth axis movement. Dryness
or corrosion on these components interferes with
printing and leads to poor print quality.
Lubrication Type ................ Light Bearing Grease
Lubrication Amount ....................................1 Dab
Lubrication Frequency ............................ 30 Days
-32-
Lubricating X- & Y-Axis Rails
Wipe off (6) axis rails with a clean cloth to remove
dust and old grease, then apply a dab of grease
to each axis rail (see Figure 44). Move print head
back and forth along rails to evenly distribute
grease (refer to Moving Axes on Page 29).
IMPORTANT: Do NOT press or lift print head or
move against rails. Doing so could bend axis rails,
leading to poor print quality.

Lubricating Z-Axis Leadscrew
Wipe off leadscrew with a clean cloth to remove
dust and old grease, then apply a dab of grease
(see Figure 45). Move build platform up and down
to distribute grease evenly (refer to Moving Axes
on Page 29).
