  • Page 8  Do not install in close proximity to a fire sprinkler or other sources of water.  A dedicated commercial AC power outlet is required. Do not use extension cords.  Ensure that all wires and cables to and from the OfficeServ 7400 do not cross fluorescent lights or run in parallel with AC wires.
  • Page 9 The OfficeServ 7400 system requires that a supplementary earth ground be connected to the system. This is the preferred method of grounding the OfficeServ 7400. It should be noted that when the third wire ground becomes inferior, it many prevent the digital data bus from canceling out noise.
  • Page 10 Obviously, it is important to have a good source of ground connected to the OfficeServ 7400 system to drain this energy off. Again, a good earth ground source is required by the OfficeServ 7400 system.

    582.3W 1.4 UNPACKING AND INSPECTION The OfficeServ 7400 can be configured as a single cabinet, dual cabinet or 3-cabinet system. All OfficeServ 7400 cabinets are identical when shipped from Samsung. After unpacking the cabinet(s), inspect for signs of physical damage. If any damage is detected, do not attempt to install the system.

    2.1 SYSTEM INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Installation Overview: 1) Install the OfficeServ 7400 cabinet on a table or inside a data rack depending on the installation environment. 2) Connect the ground to the ground lug behind the main cabinet.

External Grounding External grounding is required to prevent human injuries and system damage caused by lightning, static electricity, or voltage surge.

    This section describes how to install and replace various boards of the OfficeServ 7400 system. 3.1 CABINET CONFIGURATION The main and expansion cabinets of the OfficeServ 7400 system have 12 slots each. The slots are numbered 0~11 as shown below.
  • Page 18 The OfficeServ 7200 cabinet can be used as expansion cabinet 1 and/or expansion cabinet 2 for the OfficeServ 7400 system. Simply install an OS7200 LCP card in slot 0 of the cabinet and connect it to the MP40 via LCP link cable. The OS7200 cabinet cannot be used as a main cabinet for an OS7400 system.

    4) The above steps 2~3 also apply to installing the LP40 board to slot 0 each cabinet. 3.2.3 Connecting MP40 Board to LP40 Board If the OfficeServ 7400 system consists of a main cabinet and up to two expansion cabinets, connect the MP40 board to each LP40 board located in the expansion cabinets using link cables.

Each optional daughtercard must be installed in specific positions of the LP40 (see Figure 3.9).

It also supports Q-Sig/PRI signaling required for networking multiple systems. This card is functionally identical to the TEPRIa card, however, it offers two independent circuit interfaces labeled P1 and P2 on the front panel.

The system provides internal tone/music and external music sources per C.O. or extension lines as the music source. Two external music sources are offered. The SD/Smart Media/MMC+ card has 1GB/32MB/64MB of NAND flash memory and is formatted, with a custom format to allow faster loading, in a similar manner to a hard disk.
