position. Releasing or firmly pushing through the actuator causes the stop of
dangerous movements. When moving back from the pushed through position
to the inactivated position, there is no enabling signal.
The Hand-held Terminal IndraControl VCH 08.1 features a stop button as fur‐
ther safety operating element, which is also in 2-circuit technology. The switch‐
ing contacts are directly guided outwards via the connecting cables and can be
connected via the IndraControl VAC 30.2 connection module. It is possible to
interrupt the operation of the installation in all operating modes with the stop
button (stop category 0).

Optionally, the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is also available with a grey stop button
instead with a red-yellow emergency stop button.
This button is 2-circuit and the switching contacts are directly guided outwards
via the connecting cables. They can be connected via the IndraControl VAC
31.1 connection module. If the IndraControl VCH 08.1 with emergency stop
button is used, the EN ISO 13850 requirements become important. For more
detailed information refer to

The following additional components to operate controls and installations are
available:
Override potentiometer
Electronic handwheel
If the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is equipped with an override potentiometer, it is
evaluated in the device via a software and is transmitted to the control as 4-
bitGrayCode via a real-time prototcol.
The override potentiometer can be used for different applications, e.g. setting
the spindle speed and the feed for machine tools.
The application applies the indication of the set value.

If the IndraControl VCH 08.1 is equipped with an electronic handwheel, the
handwheel pulses are evaluated in the processor and are transmitted to the
control as 16-bit value transmission.
Per revolution 50 pulses are counted. The counter value (0 to 65535, 16 bit
value) will increase if the handwheel is turned clockwise, whereas the value will
decrease if the handwheel is turned anticlockwise.
The application applies the indication of the set value. The set values are reset
via an operating element of the pertinent application.
