7. Note the orientation and position of the fan
blade, then pull straight forward to remove it
from the motor shaft.
8. Remove the two screws from the fan bracket to
release the fan motor.
9. Disconnect the electrical connector and pull
be uninstalled and the machine compartment top
cover removed.
If the freezer or condenser fan shorts between
common (white) and PWM (yellow), it will damage
the main control board. If the fan resistor on the
main control board is burnt, replace the fan and the
main control board.

Diagnosing
Checking from the main board approximate
operating voltages can be read at the J2 connector.
J2 pin 8 (red) - J2 pin 3 (white) = ~12 VDC
J2 pin 5 (pink) - J2 pin 3 (white) = 4 -12 VDC

Drain Pan Fan
The drain pan fan utilizes a 12 VDC motor to
the evaporation of defrost water held in the defrost
drain pan. The fan will operate at high speed when
the sealed system is on, and when the sealed

1. Remove the toe kick (held in place with two
Philips screws).
2. Pull out the defrost drain pan.
3. Disconnect the connector.
4. Remove the two 1/4 in. hex screws to remove
the fan from the mounting bracket.
Diagnosing
Checking from the main board approximate
operating voltages can be read at the J2 and J5
connectors.
J2 pin 8 (red) - J2 pin 3 (white) = ~12 VDC
J2 pin 3 (white) - J5 pin 1 (black) = 4.5 - 6.5 VDC
