    6 MECHANICAL FUNCTION 6.1. Paper Feed Mechanism Fig. 6.1 1. When the document is set on the Feed Tray, and its presence is detected by the Paper Sensor, the scanning command from PC will allow the Conveyor Motor to be driven, which will rotate the Paper Feed Roller, Conveyor Roller, and Exit Roller in the direction of the arrows.

    7.2. Cleaning 7.2.1. Preparation Before cleaning, the following procedures are required. (1) Turn off the scanner by turning the Power Switch off and unplugging the AC Adaptor from the scanner.     8 DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 8.1. Disassembly Flowchart The flowchart indicates disassembly sequence of the Exterior item, Mechanical parts’ item, Unit Components’ item, and Circuit Board assemblies’ item. When reassembling, perform the steps in the reverse order unless otherwise instructed in the Reassembling Notes.

Be sure to allow the inside of the scanner to cool down before performing any maintenance or coming in contact with the inside of the unit. (1) Slide the Scanning Glass (F) in the direction of the arrow (1), while pushing both ends of the glass, to unlock the glass from the scanner.
  • Page 37 Reassembling Note: (1) Align the Scanning Glass (F) to the left-end of the chassis frame until the glass goes in the direction of the arrow (1), seen from the front. (2) While facing the glass in the direction of the arrow (2) to determine the glass default position, insert the 4 notches to the frame of the chassis in the direction of the arrow (3).

    8.3. Mechanical Block 8.3.1. Conveyor Motor (1) Remove the Rear Cover. (See 8.2.5.) (2) Remove the CONTROL Board. (See 8.4.4.) (3) Release the connector cables from the clamps inside and outside of the Base Plate. (4) Remove the 5 screws and the screw with the FG cable. (5) Remove the Base Plate, paying attention to the contact between the cables and the plate edge.

  • Page 42 Reassembling Note: Tension-plate Assembly (1) Attach the Side-plate Assembly through the guides of the chassis that determine the assembly position. And fasten the 2 screws (b). (2) With one side of the spring hung to the Tension-plate Assembly, hang the other side of the spring to the hole of the Side-plate Assembly.
  • Page 43 (4) Fasten the screw (a), tightly. And loosen the screw by half-rotation. (5) Confirm the Tension-plate Assembly is slid by the spring in the direction of the arrow. (6) Confirm the conveying function by rotating the Conveyor Roller by a few rotations. (7) Fasten the screw (a), while pushing the Tension-plate Assembly.
