Chapter 4 Advanced Usage
Setting the power supply unit capacity
Selectable from levels 1 to 3 (Low ∼ High) (default setting: level 3)
Depending on the print pattern or usage environment and so on, if problems such as a low
voltage error or power shutdown occur, you may be able to avoid the problem by setting the
power supply unit capacity. If you cannot avoid the problem even after setting the power supply
unit capacity to level 1, you may be able to avoid it by reducing the print speed and reviewing
the print pattern (reducing the amount of printing).
Setting the automatic paper cut
• Not use this function (default setting)
• Cut paper when the cover is closed
• Print logo when paper is cut
Printing logo when paper is cut is not available with memory switch setting mode.
Setting the paper reduction
• Extra upper space reduction: enabled or disabled (default setting)
• Extra lower space reduction: enabled or disabled (default setting)
• Line space reduction rate: not reduced (default setting), 25%, 50%, or 75%
• Line feed reduction rate: not reduced (default setting), 25%, 50%, or 75%

• Barcode height reduction rate: not reduced (default setting), 25%, 50%, or 75%
Setting the transmission speed for serial interface
When DIP switches 1-7 and 1-8 are set to ON, the memory switch settings (custom values) are
enabled. You can select the communication speed from 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, or
115200 bps. (The default is 38400 bps.) (See
"Transmission Speed (DIP Switches 1-7/1-8)" on page
57.)
Setting the printer model
When you use the TM-T88V with the APD Ver. 4.00 ~ 4.04, you need to change the printer model
name to "TM-T88IV."
