At the initial settings screen
Press )/* to select "9 Other Settings"
and press SELECT.

When "1 Still Mode" is selected
Automatic: "Frame still" and "Field still" are automati-
cally selected during the still mode.
(Factory preset)
Field:
Select this setting when jittering occurs in
the pictures even when "Automatic" is se-
lected.
When "2 Audio during Search" is selected
On: Factory preset (When audio during search is
not desired, select "Off".)
Off: Select this setting if audio during search is not de-
sired.
When "3 TV Mode (4:3)" is selected
Pan & Scan: The video material for a wide-screen will
Letterbox:
When "4 D. (Dynamic) Range Compression" is se-
lected
Off: Normal audio range is selected. (Factory preset)
On: Select this setting to enjoy listening to dynamic
sound even on a low volume. This is useful for late-
night listening. [This function only works with Dolby
Digital (AC-3) DVDs.]
