HOW TO USE T~ DO~LE DUTY" SHELF
/
Use the shelfonly whencookingfood on
2 levels.Food microwavesbest whenplaced
directlyon the ovenfloor.
Do not storeor cookwith the shelfon the floor
of the oven.Productdamagemay result.
Use pot holderswhenhandlingthe metalshelf
andcontainers.They may be hot.
Do not storea microwavebrowningdish on the
metalshelf.
Positioningthe Shelf
Topositionthe DoubleDutyTM
shelf, tip the back slightlyand fit
the shelf supportguidesontothe
supportguideslocatedon each
sideof the oven in the rear.
Your shelf accessory is designedfor use in the
microwaveoven only; do no use it in the loweroven.
Do not use a browningdish with the shelf.Arcing
couldoccur.
The wire shelf is specificallydesignedfor added
heating and reheating capacity. Morethan one food
may be heatedor reheatedand readyto serveat the
sametime.
Do not use the oven shelf to cook batters and
dough foods and also uncooked foods which need
to be prepared from scratch.
Pop popcorn on the microwaveoven floor only.
Popcornplacedon the oven shelfwill not pop
properly.Use a specialmicrowavepopcornaccessory
or popcornlabeledfor use in microwaveovens.
Next,lowerthe frontuntilthe shelf
supportguidesfit ontothe support
guideslocatedat each sideof the
oven in the front.
Whenproperlypositioned,the
shelfshouldfit snuglyin place,be
leveland not touchthe back wall
of the oven.
If arcing occurs when using the
shelf to cookmorethan one food
at the sametime,turn the oven off.
Makesure the shelfis positioned
right-side-up o ndl fourshelfsupports
and not touchingovenwalls.
To prevent arcing, removethe
shelfwhenyou are not usingit.
How to Heat or Reheat SeveralDifferent ~pes of Food Together
When heating several different types of food
together, it is importantto rememberthat foods
absorbmicrowaveenergyat differentrates. Rates
can be affectedby the sizeof the food and its starting
temperature.
Becauseof the varying rates, you may needto start
reheatinglargeror moredensefoodsa few minutes
aheadof time,then add smalleror less densefoods.
Alternately, i f one of the foodsyou are heatingseems
underheatedbut the othersare heatedsatisfactorily, l et
the underheatedfood continuecooking.
Heat or reheat
different types of
food at High (10).
Todetermineheating
times,addtimesfor
all foodstogether.
Afterhalf of the time,
stir or rearrangefoods
(do not reversepositions).Checkfoods(floor
especially)after 3/4 of the totaltime and remove
any whichare done.Continuecookingothers.
