Types of Connections for Recording
® With this Portable MiniDisc Recorder, two types of recording methods can be
selected: recording with an optical digital connection to a CD player or other audio
equipment, and recording with an analog connection.
© Select the recording method that suits the output jack on your equipment.
Recording with an Optical Digital Connection
© Recording with an optical digital connection produces high-quality recordings
because signals are transferred digitally.
®@ The recording level is the same as that of the signal being recorded.

Required Patch Cord
The required cord should have one end matching the DMC-G7R jack 2 shape and the other end
matching the shape of either jack 1 or jack 2 on the audio equipment to be connected.
Optional Cords

When Digital Recording Is Not Possible
Digital recording is not possible when you try dubbing another digital signal onto a digitally recorded
MiniDisc. >
Recording with an Analog Connection
With the specially provided patch cord, recording from a CD player, amp, or other
audio equipment is possible.
(When recording from a microphone, an analog
connection is used.)

Audio equipment that has output jacks (RCA pin) like those
