Section 10
Testing IED operation
It may be convenient to control the input on mentioned component from, for example, an LHMI function
key or similar during commissioning to quickly and easily enter IED test mode.
10.8.3
How to change binary input/output signals using forcing
Once the IED is in IED test mode, the LHMI/PCM600 menus can be used to control input/output signals
freely.
10.8.3.1
Forcing by using LHMI
Editing a signal value directly
•
Edit the input/output value directly to select the desired logical level, by doing following:
1.
2.
3.
When navigating away from a LHMI forcing menu for an I/O board, the user is prompted to either leave
the signals forced, or to revert all of them back to the unforced state.

Figure 21:
Value line of the desired signal
Use the up/down arrows on the LHMI to change the signal value or the appropriate menu in
PCM600.
The status of the signal changes automatically to Forced (i.e. there is no need to set the status
to Forced manually).
On the LHMI, these edit changes have immediate effect. This means that the value changes
directly when the up/down arrow is pressed (i.e. there is no need to press the Enter key to
effectuate the change).
