Plausibility of control and setpoints
All system-relevant block inputs are monitored for plausibility. Faulted or implausible
parameterizations are limited to the maximum system limits. A diagnostic message is always
issued in the event of an incorrect parameterization. In critical cases, this can also result in the
immediate shutdown of the system.
System diagnostics
The SIMOCRANE ESSM Step7 library includes a comprehensive diagnostic system. This signals
system states to the higher-level crane control system and the local operator interface. The
diagnostic system consists of warnings, fault messages and status information.
Remote/local operator station (switchable)
The local operator interface can be used to take over the master control for the energy storage
device and to return it to the higher-level control system. The Service function can be selected
in "Local" mode for commissioning the energy storage system, for example.
Monitoring
SIMOCRANE ESSM offers a comprehensive monitoring system. This independently monitors the
system for critical states and responds autonomously in line with the parameterization to
prevent hazardous operating states.
Hybrid
The "Hybrid" function is an add-on function of "Peak Shaving" mode (see section Fully automatic
peak shaving (Page 23)) and is only available in this operating mode.
Unlike "Peak Shaving" without "Hybrid", this makes it possible to start the system without a
precharged DC link. See "Black Start" (Page 23) mode for information about starting the system.
Once a DC link has been precharged, the behavior is the same as in "Peak Shaving" mode. This
makes it possible to connect a second infeed source later, for example. This is not possible with
the normal "Black Start", as only one infeed (SIMOCRANE ESSM) is permissible during operation
in this mode. The "Hybrid" function is a combination of the "Black Start" and "Peak Shaving"
modes.
High Dynamic
The "High Dynamic" function is an add-on function of "Peak Shaving" mode and is only available
in this operating mode. The "High Dynamic" function can be used where necessary in order to
increase the dynamic response when switching between the boost and recuperation modes.
This increased dynamic response necessitates a higher energy consumption by the SINAMICS
DCPs, which has an impact on the energy balance.
