SHEAR BOLT GUARD

If any foreign objects become lodged in the
auger, or the auger hits a curb, the rubber
dampers in the shear bolt guard will absorb
the impact and protect the auger.
If any strong impact is added to the auger,
the shear bolt will break to protect the au-
ger and the auger shaft.
WARNING
Do not look in or put your hands near
the auger when it is rotating.
NOTICE
9 Repeated impacts on the damper will
cause it to wear out over time and
protrude from the shear bolt guard.
Check visually the protrusion of the
damper from the shear bolt guard and
the position of the shear bolt guard
pin. When the deviation of the shear
bolt guard pin from the center of the
damper is as shown, the damper
should be replaced. Have a Yamaha
dealer replace the part.
9 If you keep operating the Snowblower
with the damper protruding from the
shear bolt guard, the shear bolt could
break.
9 Use genuine shear bolts when replac-
ing.
