Equipment Overview: Theory of Operation
The ApexPro Telemetry Server is part of the ApexPro telemetry system. The
ApexPro system provides real-time patient data/alarms to one or more CIC Pro
patient monitoring stations.
ApexPro telemetry provides clinicians with patient physiological information while
allowing for patient mobility.
The ApexPro telemetry system components include:
ApexPro Telemetry Server
CIC Pro
Receiver System
Antenna System
Transmitter
Provides the hardware/software connection between the ApexPro telemetry system
and the Unity Network MC network.
The ApexPro Telemetry Server runs the ApexPro host software application, which
performs the following functions:
Analyzes data from the receiver system
Assigns care unit and bed numbers to receivers
Directs and controls ApexPro operations including EKpro, trends, histories,
ECG processing and alarms
Stores data to the ApexPro Telemetry Server hard drive
Assigns/associates receiver and TTX numbers during patient admit
Sends data via the Unity Network MC network to CIC Pro systems for patient
data display
127(
The ApexPro host software application does not provide user accessible
functions, but instead relies on remote user interfaces, such as CIC Pro. Refer to
the CIC Pro Clinical Information Center documentation for further details about
the CIC Pro system.
The receiver system receives, demodulates, and decodes patient data received via
the antenna system from a transmitter. The decoded data is then transferred to the
ApexPro Telemetry Server via the Unity Network RX network. Patient data is not
stored on the receiver system.
