CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL
WARNING
• Position the Snowblower on a level
surface.
• When you have just stopped the
engine, do not drain the engine oil
as it will still be very hot. Change the
engine oil after the engine has
cooled down.
TIP
• As correct disposal of used oils is man-
dated by regulations (such as pollution
prevention act), consult your Yamaha
dealer for oil disposal guidelines.
• For the first engine oil change, change
the engine oil after 20 operating hours
(that is, when you have refueled four
times). After that, change the engine oil
each time the winter season begins.
1. Start the engine and warm up for 2–3
minutes.
2. Stop the engine and remove the engine
switch key.
3. Remove the engine oil drain cover by
removing the bolts.
4. Remove the engine oil inspection cover
by removing the screws.

5. Place a suitable container below
engine oil drain bolt to collect the used
oil.
6. Drain the engine oil completely by
removing the engine oil filler cap, the
engine oil drain bolt, and its gasket.

7. Install the engine oil drain bolt and its
new gasket, and then tighten the bolt to
the specified torque.
