PRE-OPERATION CHECK

CHECKING THE AUGER

Check the auger for bending or deformation
or the existence of any foreign objects.
1. Auger
CHECKING THE HANDLEBAR
FOR LOOSENESS OR PLAY
Hold the handlebar and check it for any
looseness or play by moving it left and right.
If any looseness or play is found, consult
your Yamaha dealer.
CHECKING THE STARTER
MOTOR OPERATION
Turn the engine switch to the "START
position, and make sure that the starter
motor cranks the engine normally.
CHECKING THE ENGINE FOR
POOR STARTING OR ABNOR-
MAL NOISE
Make sure that the engine starts immedi-
ately, and that it cranks the engine
smoothly. Also, check that no abnormal
noises are coming from the engine.
CHECKING THE EXHAUST
SYSTEM
After starting the engine, check the exhaust
system for any abnormalities.
CHECKING THE AUGER
CLUTCH AND DRIVE CLUTCH
FOR OPERATION MALFUNC-
TION
After starting the engine, operate both
auger clutch lever and drive clutch lever.
Release each lever, and make sure that the
auger stops rotating and that the Snow-
blower stops (see page 34).

CHECKING THE CHUTE
OPERATION

After starting the engine, make sure that
the chute direction control lever and the
chute deflector control lever operate nor-
mally (see page 16, 17).
CHECKING ANY TROUBLES
NOTICED WHEN PREVIOUSLY
OPERATING THE SNOW-
BLOWER
Check and repair any trouble (including
damaged parts) noticed when last used to
ensure proper and safe operation of the
Snowblower.
