This chapter provides information about how to install or replace orderable parts other than
network interface cards (NICs) in your Check Point IP2450 appliance. The following topics are

You should have a working knowledge of networking equipment before you attempt to service
an IP2450. Limit service of the appliance to the procedures described in this chapter.
Caution
To protect the IP2450 and the memory modules from electrostatic discharge damage,
make sure you are properly grounded before you touch these components. Use a
grounding wrist strap and follow the instructions provided with the wrist strap before
you handle the components or open the appliance. The grounding plug on the front of
the appliance (shown in
