Setting up the Windows-based environment (Windows® 2000 Professional)
Adding File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks
If File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is not displayed in step 2, proceed as follows:

Click Install on the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
The Select Network Component Type dialog box appears.

Click Service, then click Add.
The Select Network Service dialog box appears.

Click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

Click OK.
File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks appears under Components checked are used
by this connection.
When you have added all components, proceed to the Specifying the IP address
This setting is required to allow other computers on the same LAN to share files from your computer or the printer connected to your computer.
File and Printer Sharing is not recommended while connected to the Internet. Security is an issue and Microsoft
connected to the Internet, please consider using some firewall software.
Adding NetBEUI Protocol (Option)
If NetBEUI Protocol is not displayed in step 2, proceed as follows:

Click Install on the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
The Select Network Component Type dialog box appears.

Click Protocol, and then click Add.
The Select Network Protocol dialog box appears.

Click NetBEUI Protocol.
4
Click OK.
NetBEUI Protocol is added to the component list.
